Semester Two layout portfolio. Definitely a step up from last semester in my opinion, mostly because I didn't do everything the night before like last time. Never underestimate the value of starting early, and deviously reusing old assignments. Hu hu.

Final character design assignment of first year!

I sometimes get caught up in telling myself that I'm not improving, and my art will never be good enough. But looking back on just one year of college alone, I think I have improved, in small ways.

I'll be posting a huge dump once school's over. The last nine days are going to be killer.

Ficto-planet: also known as "Lessons in Procrastination".

It is interesting to see that I've learned since the beginning of this (school) year. Strange, yet relieving.

A potential location from this story I've been developing for a while. The trees are so large in these forests that hardly any light penetrates the ground below, resulting in a dark murky bog without much useable resource. Thus, the people, worshippers of the god, Qilin, built their home using scaffolding at first to create an intricate network of platforms and rope bridges, and eventually a village. They grow food using hanging gardens, and hunt the animals that glide through the upper canopy using net based traps.

Or something.
 Process work.

End of Semester Dump

By MAO in , , ,

Now, when I say dump, I mean dump. A whole mess of miscellaneous sketches and things from the past semester. They're not all quality, but they give a good idea of what I do apart from obsessively refined assignments.

My favourite piece from my (pitiful) layout portfolio.
